Hi Guys,

Im currently on Idnet ADSL Max Premium and am looking at moving to virgin broadband but I currently use the broadband for internet gaming (hence the premium higher priority lower contention), I am currently located in the Harrow area in north west london, anyone else already on the service in that area that has any advice or experience.

Primarily I play World of warcraft, I have looked at the forums in relation to this and notice that ALOT of people have issues with world of warcraft (disconnects and lag spikes etc) and i dont really want to risk moving onto virgin and be stuck with a 12 month contract without a little bit of feed back already.

So anyone that has some advice please feel free to share!

Thanks in Advance. :D

I am in wembley, HA0... so very close to u i suppose!

When I first got NTL, around 15 months ago, pings to US servers on QUAKE 3 ARENA were about 130......now [Virgin Media], the pings to the US servers are 180-220, constantly going up and down. Its virtually impossible to play!

When my cuzin hosts a server [I think he has UKONLINE, and lives 2 streets away from me (200 metres?)], the ping is about 50-60, which i think is quite bad since his other mate gets about 40-50 also living nearby him.

So i dont think virginmedia bband is for gaming, but i do get my 2mb speeds anytime day/night! [10mb was not the same, hence i downgraded to 2mb, but it was improving].

I dont want to lie and say its amazing, since u will have to stop gaming:erm:

Even though my broadband is ****slow, I get some outstanding pings. For example, to a Battlefield 2 server I play on regularly, I normally always have the lowest ping (between 15 and 20).

Cable seems to have a lower ping and fewer hops the ADSL.

I get similar ping results, but I'm just wondering how you guys managed to copy+paste yours. The DOS window in which my results appear - disappears straight after it's shown them?
