Downstream Value
Frequency 402750000 Hz Locked
Signal to Noise Ratio 37 dB
Power Level 9 dBmV

Upstream Value
Channel ID 6
Frequency 28784000 Hz Ranged
Power Level 44 dBmV

Can anyone confirm if these power levals especially the downstream are too high, as I always seem to fluctuate up to 9 dBmV when I can't access any sites.

My download power level was +16 dBmv up until 15th March and still worked, I thought it was high at the time but apparently not for the 4100. Since then I've gone digital and now have some attenutors on the Splitter and modem and power level is now -2 dBmV and still working fine. Looks like the 4100 is more tolerant of power levels.

we were allways told to get the levels near as 0db ideal but not less than -8 on ntl network but i have seen them work ok at -12 ntl still have analouge signals on net work so if you have +9 then odds on your low analouges will be banging into the modem.

I meant to type 'attenuators' and hairy mick meant to type 'analogue' but no one seems to have noticed :(

Come on you nit pickers, where are you when we need you?

Thanks Guys some of that made sense ;) :)

Seriously though, I asked if they were high as I remember a few years back now I did have power level problems and an engineer came and tweaked what he tweaks in the green box and I asked him what they should be and iirc I'm sure he said -3/+3, after reading the 256QAM bit in the sticky I wasn't sure if this was still the case, really am throwing ideas around as to the cause of my recently intermittent connection. once again thanks.
