What the symbols are for in the Benson and Hedges SILVER packet??

Each packet i buy has a diffrent symbol on the inside flap.

I have searched the websites for info, but i cant find any. Maybe a secret code to win an iron lung for a few weeks......??

Dear Nathan
Thank you for your email from which I was delighted to hear that you
enjoy B&H Silver.

With regard to the inside printing, Benson & Hedges has always set the
benchmark for quality and style. From historical award winning
advertising to ground-breaking 'Silver Slide' packaging design, the
brand has led the way on innovation for many years.

Today, a new form of print innovation, on the inside of Benson & Hedges
Silver 20s packs, has been designed around thought-provoking bigger
questions. I'm afraid I do not have the answers to the questions.

Again, thank you for contacting Gallaher, your feedback is much
appreciated.

Yours sincerely

Mrs G ******

Incog wonders how many B&H packets would provide enough foil to make a hat...

Maybe it's a way of getting publicity by getting people to ask about it?

Like sparking a debate in Internet forums and talking about the brand

Dada, dada, dada, dada.....mmmmm could it be there is a new sublininal image type thing going on here, whereby the unwary observer is coerced into buying/smoking more of this particular brand? Just a thought!:Yikes:

Seeing as the fag manufacturers are now forbidden from advertising in the traditional sense, they need to find more subtle ways to get people talking about them. And thus far I think they're doing a pretty good job. :dozey:

Yeah, another viral marketing scheme, imo.

I do like the response from Mrs B&H, though. It's as if she knows the answer but she ain't telling ya ;)

Arent they just printing markers? Given that there will be many boxes printed from a sheet you will have a finite number of different markers depending on where on the sheet the box came from.

post 13 is more than just a printing marker...

I've seen loads of them now.
I've seen about 8 different patterns in the lid, a lightning bolt, a posh squarish thing, a W shape, a bird silluette, a star.... I forget the others.

But the pictures inside I remember.
The messages inside that I've seen include:
Will Nostradamus Be Right?
What Am I?
Why Am I Here?
The Chicken Or The Egg?
If Colour Could Talk, What Would It Say?

This is pretty weird, I'm not sure what it's all about.

There's a bunch of theories and they all make some sense but not total sense.
And one big issue with the 'viral marketting'/'collectables' theories is that all forms of cigarette advertising are illegal and the baseball cards concept of collectables are also illegal (In England anyway) because it's promoting an unhealthy addiction.
So how come this isn't illegal? What exactly is it all about?

Perhaps they are a security marker - i.e if customs seize imported fags, it a way to tell if they are for the UK?

I've noticed a trend in them too, packs from vending machines in pubs don't have them but in shops they do.
Some 'corner shops' don't have them either.

But if you think about it, vending machines didn't get the slidey packets for ages either. I suspect vending machines and more out-of-the-way shops get their supplies in large but infrequent deliveries so they've got loads of older ones to shift. So you're more likely to find a logo in places where they sell them faster so have to buy them more recently.
I suspect the logo thing is a new concept and some shops still have non-logo'd packets.

Oh yeah, one more:
A spiral logo in the top and inside it says "What is deja vu"

It's all just total waffle dreamed up by coke-snorting advertising execs in a wine bar.

Congratulations on contributing to the drug-pushers' viral marketing campaign.

I wonder how many kids reading this now have a perception of [afore-mentioned] brand being cooler than it was before reading this?

They still kill you, and make lots of money for those that flog them.

Tobacco company executives don't smoke. Think about it.

I like the slidey packs.

No use when you've had a few pints though... more than once have I slid the pack open upside down, into a drink :erm:
