Does anyone know the type of cable and connectors that Virgin Media use for their internal cabling?

I have my access point in the front room connected to a two way splitter; one goes to the Set Top Box and the other to the broadband modem.

I would like to move the modem and Set Top Box to the other side of the room, but rather than get the hassle of arranging a VM engineer, I'd sooner do it myself

You would be much better getting a engineer.

It is not recommended that customers mess with the cables on the street side of their modem / set top box. Get it wrong and you can introduce interference that affects your own services, and those of your neighbours.

The biggest difficulty for customers is the crimped connections at the ends of cables. Most DIY satellite connectors are insufficiently robust providing an inadequate electrical joint. I have no idea where publicly you'd get this type of kit.
