I'm on the 10MB Virgin Media service and have been unable to get a Windows Messenger connection... is anyone else having problems?

All my other internet activity **seems** ok and I have checked the service status of MSN.

It's good to know it probably was'nt the recent Windows update then. Thanks for the prompt response! Really appreciate it.

Yep having the same problem too guys, thank F**K i thought it was just me!
I cant even get access to my hotmail by going to msn.com and clicking on hotmail, must be a server problem?
So who do we thinks to blame microsoft or virgin?

Im on msn, and have been since about 2.30pm, but I can't sign in on any pc anymore. I don't want to sign out on my pc incase it wont log back in again!

I have seen people sign off tonight but not sign on. I have about 15 contacts online instead of the usual 30-40ish.

Sounds like part of the server that allows logins has gone down, but the msn service itself is still up, hence some people like me are still signed in.

I managed to sign in earlier this evening but I stupidly switched off the computer so now I can't login. :(

Why doesn't the service status (http://messenger.msn.com/Status.aspx) say anything about it?

Cant sign into msn either... as always there service status page says its fine. Although if I click help it comes up with server to busy. Its defintly not an ntl fault as my sister can log in fine.

msn had taken there service down due to a system's error. Only way to fix it, was to take msn offline.. dont ask me how i know. a birdy told me :D

I checked this last night.. The main NS server (messenger.hotmail.com:1863) was rejecting connections & wasn't telling the clients to transfer to another NS server to continue the logon.

Bring back P7 :p Damn P14 sucks ass..
