"The eight-litre, hand-crafted Veyron has a top speed in excess of 250mph. The 1,000 horsepower Bugatti can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 2.5 seconds."
Still can't avoid trees and Astra vans, though.

doing 100mph in a 40 zone and notorious black spot in pouring rain doesnt help. i'm glad that the mother to be is ok. There arent words suitable to describe the driver

It's in the Times
Times (http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/driving/article1478628.ece)
And it gets worse (remember, there are only 300 of them)
"The consortium which owned the vehicle had paid a substantial premium for early delivery only a week before and the driver at the centre of Sunday’s incident is believed to have been the first rental customer, paying at least £20,000 for the privilege. In the light of this mishap, the experience may yet prove even more costly"

Newspapers say he was doing 100 mph.
The car new is £835,000, but the company bought it for £905,000.
The driver who crashed it Hired it from the company @ £20,000/day.
If it is a right-off the biggest losser is Audi who make them for £5,000,000 each loosing over £4,000,000 on each since its all for the publicity of making the fastest road car. Its limited to 253 mph. It could go faster!
But why!!!
Who as that kind of money?
They have sold over a 100!
What do the share holders think of the falling dividends to finance 100 petrolheads showing off and destroying the planet at 6 mpg!

I spotted one on the M6 few weeks ago, crawling along at 60mph behind a marked Police car. Im not a petrol head but its probably the most beautiful modern car I have ever seen so I gave the driver an approving nod

If he can afford to spend that sort of cash hiring the car, I do hope when he's found guilty of driving without due care they fine him a suitable amount.

they may wait a 'decent interval' ;)
cue 'driver and passenger cell survivability quotient' increase, in the meantime ;)
