I would like my decent pings back and also the surfing as it used to be not hit and miss as at present ask to move on a page and this can hang for no reason refreshing the page doesn't always work and I have tried three browsers when it starts to hang they all do.

From what I hear all over the counter strike community those using NTL/Telewest seem to be having problems with high pings some have had this for over 6 months. This is not acceptable why keep signing more up if you already know the network is at breaking point.

Now we are Virgin Media how about setting up an email section so we can send in our tracerts for them to see you tried explaining a tracert to the Indian call center. :banghead:

It's happening a lot, I've been getting high pings in BF2 for the past month or so. And someone else is getting it with CS as well. There's another thread on here about it.

Mine has always been top notch but for the past few days many sites return Cannot Find Server and my pings have gone sky high.

Well maybe we are no reaping the rewards of paying managment high bonuses and making most of the workforce contract instead of in house workers and now the network is at breaking point will give anolther month then maybe its time to look what else is available.

I think the "tubes" are full up.....

At least, that's what an American Senator thought. Tubes (http://boingboing.net/2006/07/02/sen_stevens_hilariou.html)

So basically to justify the problem you can't rely on one trace route, that also applys to me saying there isn't a problem. There could be a number of reason's why your experiencing an issue, but where? well keep testing that route and if it continues to be a source of a problem, then there is a basis to complain about it.

Has anyone actually tried to contact VM about these problems. if i am ever having a problem at all with my internet, have had a few they have always managed to sort them out. If they dont know of the problems cause we dont give them feedback they wont be ablke to fix em. I reckon everyone should ring up and explain the problems they are havin with there net connection. They sorted mine out almost straight away.

I have had over 6 years of NTL before the India call center problems was resolved and correctly diagnosed, sadly the last 4 times i cvalled tech support in India they blames the modem and arranged engineers to come out when everytime it was the network. Still using the modem they have said was died some 12months later. We get told we have to wait till they upgrade some have been waiting for upto 7 months now. I was told my connections are not congested yet counter strike at times is impossible to play.

I am on cable 4mb

i have also had problems playing cod online , i play on a server in the usa and on my tracert the hop before i jump to the usa i am getting a ping of 80 to 100 ( linx gw2 peer1.net -195.66.226.156 )

i spoke to the call centre in india tuesday , and friday but they were about as much use as a fudge fireguard , all they would say is it is not our server so there is nothing they could do about it , even though my service is suffering , also my ubr? is over subscribed.

i am sick to my teeth of the customer service i get everytime i call and will cancel the service if my pings to not improve.

Don't bite my head off for this, but if you are not on a proxy then try using one. I have and it improved things a lot. (I cannot believe I said this :D )

Been with NTL for nearly 3 years, just only just registered on this forum, used to be on the old site. Well i think the majority of problems on here are some what random, many as you say are network faults, but again VM need to know about them to get them working. Do what i do and report everything, everytime something goes wrong, lets them have a better picture f what is going on.

Have you ever tried to explain a tracert to the call centre in India?

Brick wall and head comes to mind how can others have a ticket system where you can send things like this to have them see whats happening. Also attached a screenshot of my ping last night for the majority ofd the time but had reached 400+ joined NTL in 2000 and this is the worst ping i have ever had.
