Poor ping in BF2 recently

I've been playing BF2 since November and have had no problems. But recently (the last month or so) I've started getting bad lag on nearly any server I go on (all in the UK). Has anyone else noticed anything like that recently?

I'm on the 4Mb service, all speed tests indicate that the download and upload are both about correct (3.8+ mb down, 380+ kb up) and nothing has changed on my PC at all.

congested UBR, happening everywhere i swear and theres nothing you can do about it lol, ive had lag on counter-strike since last year october and they still havent fixed it properly

Yeah, was starting to think it's that. Only been happening the last month or so, but today it's been really bad. My ping sometimes shoots up to over 400. Totally unplayable now :(

As weird as this may seem,i get less lag when being routed to USA servers.If i go on Jolt or any other UK Hosted server i get the same problems as you.

same here 2||Para, i get like less lag on other servers in europe, but in UK servers i got alot of jolty lag

see if u can find some directly peered uk gaming servers, i know dustworld.net have a direct 1gbit peer to ntl/vm, see if you can find some of their servers and see if u get the same problem

Im on Virgin 2mb and its fine most of the time, three mates on BT one next door the other two within a mile of the house. I think his is slightly better next door he gets better pings but its only ever 10-20 better, then again i can get better than him every so often!
