I've got http://192.168.100.1/ open (but I don't know what I'm looking for?!) and I've tried https://autoreg.autoregister.net/cgi/cabletier and that's been denied.............

any help appreciated, we're still at 4mb despite being assured we've been upgraded..........

Thanks

Haggis

Operation Configuration
is what you require on the http://192.168.100.1/ with root as password n username

Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 4096000 =4mb speed down
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 400000 and up
so if its larger than this yr on 10mb

or you could do a speedtest ? one on here is good

I'm in "Operation Configuration" and there's nothing there about that?
It says on that page

Frequency Plan:
Upstream Channel ID:
Frequency (Hz):
Enable DHCP Server

The last log also states

070226185752 4-Error X501.35 Unit Update Failed.

I also don't need to log in, as there is nothing to log in with?

Just checked mine, webstar epc2100 and this is mine:

Signal
This page provides important information about the status and quality of the communications between your cable modem and the cable modem network.

Downstream Channel
The data shown in the table below provides information about the signal coming from the network to your cable modem.

Downstream Status
Operational
Channel ID
2
Downstream Frequency
331000000 Hz
Modulation
256QAM
Bit Rate
20480000 bits/sec
Power Level
-2.0 dBmV
Signal to Noise Ratio
39.2 dB

Upstream Channel
The data shown in the table below provides information about the signal being transmitted to the network from your cable modem.

Upstream Status
Operational
Channel ID
4
Upstream Frequency
22200000 Hz
Modulation
QPSK
Bit Rate
768000 bits/sec
Power Level
50.0 dBmV

Glad the 20meg is back in Blackpool, even though modem still has the 10meg config file. Best is the doubled upload speed:D

That's bizarre! I've not got anything like that......on the first "Status" page I have

Acquire Downstream Channel Done
Obtain Upstream Parameters Done
Establish IP Connectivity using DHCP Done
Establish Time Of Day Done
Transfer Operational Parameters through TFTP Done
Register Connection Done
Cable Modem Status Operational
Initialize Baseline Privacy Skipped

*confused*

What modem you got?

It's a Motorola Surfboard SB4100

Newsgroup techs have had us download files, provide tracerouts, netstat, disconnect router etc etc etc........bla bla and to be honest I'm fed up with them.

The latest response is

you have 11 established connections on your PC at present. I have checked
your connection from our side and everything appears fine. I would advise a
reboot of the PC, disconnect from the router and retest your connection.

*sigh* been there, done that, got the t-shirt!

oh and from what I've read the 4100 supports 10MB, it's the 3100 that doesn't.

Ok, found my Downstream and Upstream in Signals page.......

Frequency 331000000 Hz Locked
Signal to Noise Ratio 35 dB
Power Level 1 dBmV

Channel ID 3
Frequency 25800000 Hz Ranged
Power Level 45 dBmV

Could someone explain what this is telling me?

Hello , you guys need to click on the ' Operation Config. (http://192.168.100.1/CmOpConfig.asp)' then look at -> 'Maxium Downstream Data Rate ' if showing as 10240000 that is mean you are on 10 MB and the 'Maximum Upstream Data Rate' should be at 512000 .... ... try to check again then ...

Don't you have to look in the log on a SB4100 to find the speed?

I thought that the config file that is downloaded by the modem when it boots sets the speed.

Nope, no settings like that on my Config Page

Running at 2.5mb tonight.......was 4mb this afternoon.

So far been told a UBR problem, whether I'll find out any more info is debatable!

Anyone who is ex-Telewest cannot view their speeds through that site!!!

Only ex-NTL can do this!

:td: :td: :td:

I don't know the reason but im sure someone on here will.

Im ex-Telewest, have had no problems with 10mb, constant max bandwith. (located just east of Glasgow)

Wow, do you people not understand that the Motorola modems do not show you what speed you have. The only way to check what speed you're getting is to look at the logs at which config file is being loaded. For example mine is loading cm-10240-384 which is the config file for 10Mb. However I'm getting less than 1Mb as usual, lovely Virgin.
