I've just got back on, it says Limited or No Connecttivity as you can see on the screen shot, i still seem to be able to visit sites i've tried this site, www.live.com (http://www.live.com) and RevTT - which all work without a problem...

... what does this mean exactly then, am i not able to do some things and why is it saying this?

Normally it gives a reason why it can't repair - why's this?

Ok I get people calling with this unscrew the coax and repair the connection if and when it repairs you should get a 192.168.100.x IP address if you do

Power off the modem and reconnect the coax and readd the power cable watch the SYNC and Ready lights and checked the IP address status and support

You should get an IP now in the 80, 81,82 0r 86 range starting number

If you still get a 169 after repairing it could be the enet card try connecting via USB we have had some issues with certain NIC where the drivers needed updating

If ir goes back to a 169 after getting a 192 then it may be a problem on the network so call 150 for tech support

That's a bit of a rash decision for a TCP/IP issue!

I had the same problem and it turned out to be my firewall which I had to remove from my system and then reboot, I changed to another firewall and now all is OK.

It's probably the case it's not setup right then as others haven't mentioned any kind of problem like this. Try using Kerio Sunbelt Firewall (http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Kerio.cfm) which i'm currently using.

I'm planning to change to Comodo to see what it's like at some point. :)

If you have got ENET and I know it doesn't seem to be the problem but connect the enet cable instead when you get the firewall issue sorted

Did you say you've uninstalled and reinstalled the firewall it seemed to be better when I did this

Had a similar problem with Zone Alarm Pro
