We all know the previous problems when the DNS ****ed up and caused a major broadand outage a few times last year for ntl customers.

Well this evening im having the same problems

- Google, eBay & MSN don't work
- Images are not loading, they just have X in them
- Apple trailers are not loading properly
- some other sites are having problems

i thought it was just me till a few of my friends said if i was having any problems, they are on ntl also

Those sites are fine for me and I'm in a former ntl area.

Perhaps this is something local to your service area?

Maybe, my friends all live quite close to me, this is my speed test:

(10Mbps service)

Mon, 12 Feb 2007 22:09:14 UTC

1st 512K took 15485 ms = 33.1 KB/sec, approx 273 Kbps, 0.27 Mbps
2nd 512K took 13015 ms = 39.3 KB/sec, approx 324 Kbps, 0.32 Mbps
3rd 512K took 13250 ms = 38.6 KB/sec, approx 318 Kbps, 0.31 Mbps
4th 512K took 17203 ms = 29.8 KB/sec, approx 246 Kbps, 0.24 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 290 Kbps, 0.29 Mbps

Sorry i thought it was something big since those were all the sites that were not working correctly the last 2 times the whole broadband network went down.

I tried restarting the modem and the computer, nothing worked, still the same...

I guess I just call BT and use their slightly more pricey service and get fantastic speeds all the time.

No he doesnt have to do that.

To OP - dont worry its the invisible getting the UBR's for the national launch of the traffic management.

As Blizzard GM's would say "Its working as intended"

Give it a few days, hopefully you will see some success.

:) Those GM's are so polite.

I certainly hope the situation improves, not just for my WoW playing. I struggled to send an email earlier, and the whole internet connection failed at around 2am. The cable modem simply flickered on the sync light for ages.
