It may be sheer coincidence but my 'up to 2 meg' connection has dropped dramatically during the last two days. It had been consistently only slightly below 2 meg for months but has dropped quite pathetically the last two days. I tested my speed just now and I am getting well below 1 meg at present!!
Anybody else having this problem?
I checked on server status page here (http://www.ntl-isp.ntl.com/ServiceStatus/) and nothing is posted about this.

If you call Virginmedia they may be able to tell you what is going on, could just be that some people in your area/ street have been installed and signal levels need sorting out. Also could be hardware failure somewhere. Either way calling CS/ TS is the best route.

WHEN my broadband is working, the speed is very slow. called CS and was told my cable modem must be faulty. Strange as my neighbours are having the same problems at the same time as me. What can kill all cable modems in a street? (SARCASM)

I'm having the same problem. For almost a year my connection was stable, nearly always getting over 9meg speeds. Now I get less than 1meg.

Ditto.

Highly doubtable.

generally if you get slow speeds on a cable line it means theres a problem with the power source of the ubr (although this excuse is used alot) on the line and previously posted answer would solve the problem, the technicians have to sort your streets signal levels out and your problem will be resolved, as i say in any repair posts the indian call centre will try and send a tech to your house, call albert dock and they'll know what to do
