Switching from STB to Cable Modem advice

Evening all,

As part of my V+ upgrade I thought in advance I would switch from having a STB broadband connection to a cable modem one.

Has anyone done this recently that can inform me as to what I'm going to need to do (so that I'm prepared prior to doing this !).

I also have a wired router which is currently between the STB and my PC - and obviously this is going to be going between the cable modem and my PC (not sure if this will add any additional issues !).

Any info provided will be gratefully received !

Good luck with the install mate. Cable modem will be a lot better. Router should work fine with it. :)

When I swopped over from stb to cable modem it was really easy especially the router bit. I just unplugged everything from the stb, reconnected to the modem, turned it all back on and hey presto !!!

I like the sound of that ... let's hope that it's as simple for me then (isn't normally ! lol !).

Had to create a new account, etc.
