Hello fellow Wii owners. Thought we could all post our Wii Friend codes here, so that our Miis can go walkabout.

I'll start the ball rolling... here's mine:

7824 0155 0364 2460

If you add me, drop me a PM with your code, so we can start to mingle.

I thought it sounded more similar to the points system. Maybe someone is handing out free point codes. :D

It just a code to connect consoles up allowing you to send messages, play games, send miis, etc etc.

How do I find it out ?

Yeah, the Wii Friend is similar to the XBox Live thingy, although it's tied to a machine not a user, and also acts as an email address... not sure if Xbox Live works the same way.

The "Wii Number" is an identifier unique to each Wii system which operates in a similar manner to the Friend Code. As demonstrated by Matt Casamassina of IGN Wii, the "Address Book" in the system's "Message Board" feature displays the system's "Wii Number", and allows other users' Wii numbers to be registered. Mutual exchange of Wii Numbers allows messages, cell phone text messages, photos, and Miis to be sent between the Wiis in question. In addition, the Wii can send and receive e-mails between potentially any e-mail client by sending a request e-mail that contains a link that, when clicked, activates future two-way communication. The e-mail address for all Wii consoles is w################@wii.com, where # represents a digit in the Wii number.

Here's how I found mine... not sure if this is the easiest way, but it's what I did...

open the message board and click create a message then click on the address book and click on previous page arrow, or the minus "-" button, and your code is displayed.

Your Miis can only mingle with and you can only receive email from users who you've authenticated, to stop you from receiving spam.

Cool. When I set mine up it asked me to link to my account on a Nintendo website. I didn't have one at the time but want to set one up.

Do you know what the link is and how I add it after initial setup ?

Are there plans for there to be any online games. The future of the Wii seems a little foggy atm.

Ninty are finalising the online service... first game to take advantage is Pokemon, which is going to be released in March (I believe).
