Over the weekend I tried to download an 18mb PDF, this took over 5mins. Transfer rate was down to 70Kb/sec, which is more like a 1MB service.
Tried the same today and performance was more like a 2MB service.
NTL are throttling all the time it would seem, and not providing the speed advertised!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Same here Stanley, my 10mb acting like a 2mb. Mate's 4mb down the road is getting max 2.5mb. It's been fine for me for years until 2/3 weeks ago.

should merge with my post below

After 9PM - performance shot back up, from 1700kb/s ->3565 kb/sec.
Only delivering the advertised speed when they feel like it, and not when you need it!:mad::mad:
And it affects all downloads not just Peer to Peer traffic!

I've not even got p2p stuff running. I VPN to work though and that's been utter pants recently as a result.

Sure it's not the source? I get every bit of my 4 megs.

OK I've jsut spoken to CS AGAIN. The localised problem affecting some in the brighton area should be resolved by tomorrow (wednesday).

So let's cross fingers, see what happens, then call them back to get a refund for almost a month of bad service.

Hmmm, I've been looking at alternate proxies. It defaults to cache-6, cache-3 seems to have better throughput - Dan Elwell's Speed Test.
