I’m experiencing extremely slow speeds in the Southampton area at the moment. I’m barley getting above 300k, slower than my first ADSL 512 K connection!!!!
I went onto broadband medic this evening and a really nice guy helped me out, even reregistered me onto another UBR as the one I was on previously was oversubscribed...but I’m still having the same problem (maybe worse)
Check out my test results...
1st 128K took 3047 ms = 43017 Bytes/sec = approx 358 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 1297 ms = 101058 Bytes/sec = approx 841 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 1875 ms = 69905 Bytes/sec = approx 582 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 3390 ms = 38664 Bytes/sec = approx 322 kbits/sec
My ping times...:Yikes: My upload is absolutely fine though, I’m running a 128k audio stream to a UK server and listening back to it there are no buffers/skips at all, this prob is only with the downstream. I've tried many different proxies as well, all with the same results.
In the mornings until 3/4pm I get between 8mb -10mb, but surely NTL can’t let it get this bad because of how busy their crap network gets? I can’t believe they’re even thinking about a 20mb service either…surely get one working first.
