Having connection problems here in Reading for last couple of days
Connection is there most of the time, but will stutter now and then and "Rdy" light will go off for a second or more during a data transfer
Seem to recall they (sync/rdy) should be on ALL the time
Have checked the Robin Walker pages for info, but just wanted to confirm that BOTH the "Sync" and RDY" lights should be on 100% of the time, even when US or DS are flashing .i.e. during data transfers
can someone take a peek at their lights and let me know
Thanks

Hi where abouts do you live :) i have seen some ntl 100s fail after the Qam change so you might need a tech to check your levels

Downstream Receive Power Level : 6.40 dBmv
Downstream SNR : 31.78 dB
Upstream Transmit Power Level : 52.00 dBmv
The downstream numbers are flutuating a bit
so heres a few more
Downstream Receive Power Level : 6.39 dBmv
Downstream SNR : 26.51 dB
Upstream Transmit Power Level : 52.00 dBmv
Downstream Receive Power Level : 6.35 dBmv
Downstream SNR : 32.73 dB
Upstream Transmit Power Level : 52.00 dBmv
Downstream Receive Power Level : 6.64 dBmv
Downstream SNR : 30.01 dB
Upstream Transmit Power Level : 52.00 dBmv
=============
forgot qam
Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Frequency : 402750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : 256 QAM
Downstream Receive Power Level : 6.28 dBmv
Downstream SNR : 32.58 dB
forgot to mention this is quite an old install, had it about 4 years or so, orig on 512, then 2mb up grade now on 4mb, no troubles till now
By adjust levels you mean, differnet attenuater in the coax lead ?

s'funny , now tonight its not putting a foot wrong, yet both today and yesterday during the day 'rdy' light was all over the place
Figures
Downstream Receive Power Level : 5.80 dBmv
Downstream SNR : 33.14 dB
Upstream Transmit Power Level : 52.00 dBmv
Downstream power is differnet
so far seems to be a daytime thing ?
try to confirm tomorrow
I had exactly the same problem a few weeks ago with my ntl 120.
Up until then the sync & rdy lights were permanently on, but then the rdy light went off for about half a second every time I accessed the internet. It also slowed down my speed test results. Eventually it lost connection altogether, even though the signal levels appeared ok.
An engineer swapped it for a 250 & it's been fine ever since.

Is there a list anywhere of which areas are still to be changed. Just by monitoring reports it seems that the change is done when VOD is enabled or now when TVDRIVE is made available - or can it be any heavily loaded QAM64 UBR anywhere in country?

I guess it is still 'Summer' as far as NTL are concerned and some of the areas slated for VOD (mine included) in the following link are still to be done?

I don't know how often that list is updated, but Barking & Dagenham (East London) went VOD a month or 2 ago.
