You appear to be an ntl Customer Your IP address 86.0.XXX.XXX You do not appear to be using a Proxy Server

Info above is from the connection tab. This is the first time I've seen this without the proxy server, is this good?

proxies on NTL are 'transparent', so you may, or not, realise you have one

what does the 'connection' link in the forum toolbar report?

mine says

You appear to be an ntl Customer
Your IP address **
You do not appear to be using a Proxy Server

but I'm served by Nottingham, and proxies have been 'off' for a while, here ;)

The Nottingham proxies have been turned off for quite a few months now. I hope they never see the light of day again. :)

This is indeed good news. Ntl's proxys only affected port 80 traffic but what a difference it makes not having them switched on.

Long may it stay this way.

Proxies in the Luton area are "alive and well" :(

Just checked, & the Poplar proxies are off again.

To be perfectly honest, I can't say that I ever notice a difference, whether they are on or off. The only way I know is when I click on "connection" at the top of this page.
