I turned my pc on last night but had no connection coming through. I have the old Motorola SB1400 Modem but has always worked fine until now, All 3 green lights come on (Send, Recieve, Online) but there is no Activity light what so ever.

is there a chance this could be a problem with the cable??? if the cable was damaged all the lights wouldnt come on, right???

The computer is running on a router which is running fine, but there is no IP address being assigned for the internet. We called to see if they had cut us off but she said no.

Any ideas????

It could be the cable, or possibly the ethernet port on the modem or the router.
try connecting the pc direct with the cable that goes to the router.
If that doesn't work try direct pc to modem connection with a different cable.

If you still have no connection light on the modem call tech support (with the pc still connected directly) as the modems ethernet port is most likely faulty.

I'm in Southampton (SO16) and am having the exact same problem.

my broadband has been intermitant since Monday afternoon. with my samsung digital box struggling to find a connection after a reboot.

my IP usually is 86.*.***.**, but on trying a repair in the Local Area Connection Support tab brings up a new IP (192.***.***.**) this ip then flashes between this and 0.0.0.0

I seem to have no problem with packets on the upload, download is a complete different matter.

Technical support have told me its a "fault in the area", but this was after speaking to the fourth Customer Sevice operator, so I've no idea if they we're trying to fob me off or not.
