My connection is so bad tonight I can't even get through to the NTL status page...

If anyone else can manage it can you see if there are any ongoing issues in the Portsmouth area? Thanks.

Well I can get here,to the BBC pages,my google inbox but absolutely nowhere else.At one point I couldn't even get here....Anyone got any suggestions? It was bad enough having no BB,TV and Telephone until 1pm today as it is.

If I didn't hate BT so much I'd really consider making some changes.:(

Yo!

Im in Horndean, having the same probs ... Looks like something is screwed.

Can only browse by explicitly setting one of the cosh caches in my browser (cosh-cache-6.server.ntli.net is working fine).....

Cant traceroute to a lot of websites either, stops at the cosham core node.. Can only browse to them through the cache.

Oh dear NTL :(....

Support are totally useless, I cant be bothered to reboot my PC 20 times and check my settings when I know it was working 10 mins before I phoned up.

I couldn't even manage to get going by specifying a proxy! I had to switch to my ADSL line. Time for me to ring support as well.

Tried the proxy dance? Have faults said anything to you?

I did phone up this morning and they said there was a general fault in this area.Everything was out tv,bb and phone.Everything was back at 1 and I had no trouble this afternoon in getting to any site. It's started since got back on the PC at about 7pm.

Actually Rob I never bother with the Proxies because I've not had this problem for a very long time.Don't actually remember any of them..

Crazybones I'm in Gosport well Lee -on-Solent and it seems to be a large area that's suffering if it's this bad up to Horndean.

Hi all,

Rang the statusline which said there were no issues!

Then rang tech support and there's a message stating that users in Southampton, Cosham, Portsmouth and surrounding areas may not be able to browse because of a local fault. No timescale mentioned.

Oh well!!!! At least this doesn't happen too often down here.

Hello from Whiteley,

I'm having the same problems. Dreadful surfing tonight. I've only managed to get here by using one of the NTL Proxys.

I did a quick tracert and came up with the following:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
C:\Documents and Settings\Ben>tracert microsoft.com
Tracing route to microsoft.com [207.46.250.119]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 7 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.123.254
2 8 ms 9 ms 13 ms 10.72.148.1
3 8 ms 9 ms 8 ms cosh-t2cam1-a-ge910.inet.ntl.com [80.3.162.13]
4 * * * Request timed out.
5 * * * Request timed out.
6 * * * Request timed out.

Can someone give NTL a shuv?

Thanks,
Ben.

It's been broken in Felixstowe since 5pm at least. 150 state problem affecting Cambridge, Colchester & Ipswich areas.

With the other reports it looks like more than a 'Local problem'.

Working again now,

No mention of the issue on the service status page! grr. Must have been affecting a lot of people.

I think Rob C posted a list of them in one of his MANY recent public service posts!
