i just a guy from ntl to check my bb service 10meg as is running at 2-3meg he replaced the modem and checked the signal levels first at where the cable comes to the house 13db then at the end at the modem only 4db after the splitter before the splitter 8db the cable run is about 20 meters from the main box on the front of the house to the modem is this right?
this is the first guy from ntl which i have come to my house who was not in a rush and was very helpfull and checked every thing he could except the cable in the loft which has a join in it done by ntl on the first instal he said the cable should not have that amount of joins in it but every thing has been fine until ntl changed the modem config file which also changed on the new modem after 10mins and traffic shaping after asking about him about if it was the network he replied the network dept will not give a answer on any network issues?
