Im on 10mb ntl broadband service, the problem is, for regular http downloads i get roughly anything from 600-850kbs, but when it comes to ftp i get 32-44kbs maximun, this happens all day, but around 5 in the morning i receive my 700kbs ftp downstream, can anyone explain to me the issue here, or at least an explaination of whats happening, thank you in advanced,

yes (I think),
the transparent proxies that NTL run intecept http traffic (amongst others).
they do not intercept ftp traffic.
You are travelling down different paths (or rather your data is).
