No Internet After SP2

Anyone else had this problem? I download all of the windows updates and after I install Service Pack 2 I cannot get Internet Access. Just an Icon with "limited or no connectivity" in the taskbar. I know its something to do with sp2 because I can get the internet back if I restore my PC to factory condition. Ive spoken to NTL on the phone for hours and Microsoft, but no joy. Any ideas why this would be happening?

1. Try disabling "Windows Firewall" to see if that was blocking the access;

2. try re-booting your cable modem (or set-top-box) after the upgrade to SP2.

3. Remove or disable any third-party firewall or internet access software.

4. If condition persists, open a command prompt window, type the command

ipconfig /all

and copy/paste the results into this thread.

Ethernet or USB?

Start... Run... cmd

In the black Window, type:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Reboot the PC

Any better?

Thanks for the responses, Ill try them out. I can use ethernet or usb.
