Hello.

I have recently moved into a flat which has no terrestrial TV aerial, but has a Telewest cable coming through the wall. We have tried an interior aerial, but cannot get a decent reception enought o watch terrestrial TV, nor can we use our Freeview box to full extent. Is there a connection or box that we can get to connect the telewest cable to our TV aerial Input to recieve standard TV or Freeview, without paying a subscription?

Any help would be appreciated, I know almost nothing about These matters!!!

Cheers,

James:)

No, the Telewest cable does not carry Freeview (DVB-T) signals. However, if you take a Telewest phone line you can get Free TV which carries all the Freeview channels (except Sky Three, which is replaced by Sky One).

you are saying sky one is included in the tw free tv pack, is that also currently true for the (C&W,south manchester) NTL parts?, would sci-fi also be included?,or would you need to go to the whole family pack just for that channel and be subject to all the extra charges and so on that implys ?..

Sky One is included in both the ntl and Telewest Free TV packs. Sci-fi is not. However, Sci-fi is not on Freeview either which is what the OP was asking about.

When did Sky One move down to the basic package. Did I miss the memo? :/

You must have! ;) Sky One has always been in all our Digital packs, as far as I know.

Sky one is listed as part of the free tv pack (http://www.home.ntl.com/page/freetvpack)

There is at least one small difference I've spotted between the TW and the ntl free packs, namely that TW carried Film4 on this pack and the ntl pack doesn't.
