Well someone thinks so anyway
BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4134656.stm)

Londoners may be more concerned about sunburn or potential hosepipe bans, but Harrods has launched its Christmas range - 138 days before 25 December.
A Santa, dressed in a bathing suit to remind people it is summer, arrived at the Knightsbridge store, west London, to unveil the Yuletide range.
He was accompanied by a donkey called Dino, from Blackpool beach, wearing large yellow shades.

Swimming trunks Santa and his Donkey "Dino"? Nice to see that the classic Santa is safe and sound :erm:

This is daft and commercialism gone berserk. Why oh why is it necessary. Who on earth actually want's Christmas stuff some 5 months before the event.

The shops are all complaining that takings are down. Maybe they ought to sell stuff customers might actually buy, relative to the season.

Funny you should mention cards Paul... the Hallmark rep came round 2 weeks ago so we could place our orders for Father's Day cards for next year! :Yikes:

Our Halloween & Christmas stock starts arriving later this month. :)

In fairness to Hallmark, they need to know how many they need to print (so they can order in supplies). Having said that doing it now is a little excessive. I remember when I worked in the Catering department of our local hospital, we had to get our orders in for Christmas supplies in MAY.
