If they wont to make a hit with it in this country were its up agains't the xbox it will need to be under the £200 mark otherwise their wasting their time. Lets not forget its still only a souped up PS2

Just noticed, I've posted this in the wrong forum. Cas, can you move it to the PS2 forum? Sorry, sometimes I forget which forum I'm posting in. :D

Don't care.

The only good thing that this has going for it is that it has an "X" in its name.
Other than that its twaddle...

he, he, unbiased opinion there..lol

Knowing $ony it will be over the £200 price tag! Why anyone would even contemplate buying it, remains a mystery when you can already buy the best console around, XBOX ! People who buy the PS2 hybrid reminds me of the old saying "A fool and his money is soon parted". Amen.

a good reason to buy one is if you have just brought a plasma tv and you need a turner you can get one of these.

it has a turner in it. most plasma screen tv's need a tv turner to pick up terrestrial tv. you said 'Why anyone would even contemplate buying it, remains a mystery'. theres one reason for you.

You seem to have cut my sentence in half to fit your point. Whatever. :)

Perhaps now ppl understand why I included the high price ranges in the poll above. I had pretty good idea what the spec was and I couldn't see this selling for less than £450.

Suppose if people can afford a plasma tv then buying one of these will seem like loose change. :)

It is tempting, but, tbh, at the end of the day, it's the same console. I already have a great dvd recorder, I'll be buying a new PC when HL2/Doom3 are released, and the memory stick I use in my camcorder and have a printer and laptop that can support the memory stick. I'll have a hard time justifying the circa £500 expense.

Only regret is M$ not releasing the Xbox's HDTV support in Europe. Dumb-@sses!

More of the same:

http://spong.com/index.asp?art=5628

The only advantage I can see at the moment, is if the device can record from tv to hdd and hdd to dvd. If that's the case, this would be in the range of dvd recorders with 40gb capacity that sell for about £500-£600 at the moment. Sony taking another bite out of Panasonic if the dvd player/recorder works better than the original ps2 did.

No doubt they'll sell well in place's like Selfridges. They should have a health warning outside that place. Price's may result in a heart attack

Actually its worse than that. From what has been said, it looks like its going to be sold through the Sony shops exclusively. They are always under-priced in those shops. LOL :D

It has a sattelite-Tv tuner? Where's the Sky/NTL/Telewest card go in?

Does the NTL box output in some other way then SCART RGB?

24xDVD-RW/DVD+RW is nice though.
