Use that Cillit Bang stuff - works a treat.

Soak up as much of it as you can, you need something more absorbant than the fabric of the sofa (kitchen towel works well).
BLOT, don't scrub!!!
Once it's all out you can begin trying to clean it off.
Very slightly damp cloth, work from the outside of the stain towards the middle (if you do it the other way you will spill it).

Add some milk & sugar & lick it off. :D
Take the covers off of the inside if you can,
Have a look at the labels, they may even be machine washable.

Your mum is gonna be soooooooooo annoyed when she gets home young man - a week indoors for you i think :D
Ohhh Damien I don't envy you I really don't, I hope you get it sorted before your parents get home :)
We think we sloved it!
We clearned as much as we could and the whole right hand side looks the same, i think this is because we cleaned it wrong and the tea has made the whole arm a slight shade darker but its not that noticible
might sound weird... but shaving foam applied to damp stained material then worked with a damp rag or soft brush works a treat...
saw that on qvc years ago :)

DON'T do anything else.Just fess up to your mother and let her use whatever she has in her repetoire to clean it.She may be cross with you but will be even madder if you make it worse.

I don't like cillit bang, if it can do what it does to clean coins etc then I'm sure that it could ruin a sofa.
If it has discoloured part of the sofa & it cannot be got out, then it's time to pour tea over the rest of the sofa so that you then have to clean that out & make the whole thing the same colour again.

Nah, I managed to do a responible job on the cleaning (if i had not told them they would not have noticed) and so were quite chilled. Although I think they were still quite annoyed :dunce:

I did! The fact they were only slightly annoyed and not angry was good. If i hadnt told them and they discovered it, then I would have been in trouble :p:
Thanks for help everyone anyway
