I tried to use selfcare on BY to upgrade my account from 1mb to 2mb, but, after reading the terms and conditions, it said at the bottem that "telewest 2mb is £35 a month (or £39.99 if another telewest service is not taken")

I have never heard about this-and just wanted to ask if anyone else knows about this, as it is not advertised on the telewest website!

Because im not paying £40 a month for telewest 2mb £35 is already pushing it!

Erm that's the price for 2Mb so you either pay it or stay at 1Mb I'm afraid. Or move provider of course.

Hi Andy,

I'll pass your comments on to our Telewest contact if you wish, I agree that it appears misleading as it doesn't give any clues on the product page the price of 2MB is £35 is if you have other Telewest services.

thanks id love that as they havent replied to my email, i tried phoning them and they just said phone again :(

i think it might be some cheap scam or an error in the terms im not sure...
their billin is dodgy-i pay for 1mb (£25 a month)
but the bill is always like £25.04 and stuff like that!

If you have 1mb bbi on its own and gaming pack it will cost you:
£25 per month for the broadband plus
£5 per month for the gaming subscription.
If you want a 2mb connection you will also increase your upstream to 256kb and it will cost you:
£35 per month for the connection plus
nothing because the gaming subscription is free on the 2mb connection.
I work in sales for telewest so if you want to go ahead with this then send me an e mail with contact details on and i'll sort it out for ya
Cheers
