Where are they?? I've looked under the bonnet because I need to service the missus's car, are they under that chrome plate? I've tried to search for the plugs and leads but I can't find any. Mystery.

Look at the front of the chrome plate.

Follow the front edge along to the right.

Look down a bit into the engine bay, and a little more to the right.

There should be some leads there that seem to come from towards the front, bottom, right-hand side of the block and head up and under the right edge of the chrome plate.

I would guess that's the HT leads.

Follow the HT leads and they will lead you to the sparks.

Is it a engine or a hairdryer?

As far as I can tell on that year of corsa it's a distributorless setup, the chrome cover in the center of the engine covers the ignition coil subassembly and the spark plugs.

Of Course, Engine size would help... lol

[edit] Looking at the Corsa service schedule for that model year, spark plugs should be renewed every 48 months so yes, they are due for a change.

Ok, Corsa 998cc 2001 issue Revision C shell....

Bosch FLR8LDCU plugs - set to between 0.9 & 1.1mm gap
Champion RC10DMC set to 0.7mm gap
NGK BKR6EK set to 0.8mm gap

Should be under the cover in the center of the engine top (most likely the chrome one you saw)

ah a modern engine with a the manufacturers attempt at making them appear 'sealed' so that you have to take them to an approved dealer for service. Hopefully that havent used alternative (torx etc) type blots holding that cover down!

nope my cover just slides off and there are 3-4 screws there holding the rest of it down

But I have a set of torque keys to undo the cover. :D :D :D

Its probably a DOHC engine and doesn't appear like the conventional set-up.
The plugs are beneathe the plastic trim across the top of the engine. Slide it to the right hand side as you stand in front of it. Next problem is to remove the long plastic and FRAGILE top, down the centre. Remove two set screws on the to and see if you can find two larger bolts to fit the larger thread in the TOP part of the long plug cap assembly that you just removed the screws from.
With the new bolts fitted, use two screwdivers to GENTLY ease the plug cap assembly up in one piece.
Next problem! You'll need a slim fitting plug socket, preferably long-reach (No, I didn't have one either!) check what size using your new spark plugs are as a guide.
Now thats two of us looking for the damn things. Halfords have 'em, not sure of the right size yet.
