Ok looking for a ADSL provider must have these as a option


Unlimited downloads
Ethernet connections


My line test on UKOnline and pipex suggest 2mb may be available

Zen are highly recommended and uncapped. They don't give you any equipment so you can buy the modem you want.

Yes, I know a guy that works with Zen, they are very good. A bit more expensive than most, but you get what you pay for.

I don't think any xDSL provider will supply you with a free ethernet modem (I may be wrong tho), so just get yourself a combined ruter/modem & you're away.

Phag, you need to use a DSL router to have ethernet connectivity I'm afraid, same as with a cable modem you can get DSL modems with USB and with ethernet, I always used ethernet.

Unlimited downloads is a bit tougher.

Give http://www.zen.co.uk and UKOnline a pop firstly, don't forget http://www.bulldogdsl.com though!

Zen will give you an 8 IP subnet free of charge, which might be handy.

Pipex aren't really unlimited anymore dude. They have a rather vague fair use policy now with the threat of traffic shaping.
