:beer:i've been drinking beer for about ten years now and i still don't like the taste.

the only thing thats changed is my ability to withstand the distaste and gulp it down regardless. i was wondering if this is just me or if everyone is secretly like this.

dunno, really.:banghead:

I'm not much of a lager fan, I find it hard to enjoy my 2nd pint as I tend to get bloated off it pretty fast :p

However, I love a good pint of bitter, generally will stick to Smiths as it's available in majority of the places I go..... can just relax with a pint :)

Nothing beats that first pint of extra cold carling after a game of footy though

Russ
05-07-2005, 23:22
Don't like beer, bitter or anything like that. The only alcohol I will have is cider....and the occasional shot of absinthe - actually I've not had that in about 4 years now, I learnt my lesson :disturbd:

I drink CiderThe problem for most rebellious teenagers like me, was that my only near death experience was with Cider (2litre bottle of White Lightning (the stronger version 8+%) in a race, downed in about 3 minutes)
Even the smell of it makes me gag now, 10 years later.

Angua
05-07-2005, 23:27
no, but why should that be better?

Beer should be drunk for its flavour not the alcholic content otherwise all it will eventually do (over the years) is make you fat.

Real ales have a huge variety of flavours, I for one do not like Bitter but I like many "real ales".

I like a 'proper' bitter, we are lucky here 'cos hand pump Tetleys is just about spot on, and we have micro breweries, too - but if I like a nice glass of red wine, as well ;)

Raistlin

and to answer the OP, if you don't enjoy the taste then find something you enjoy. As someone else has said if you are drinking wifebeater or bud or something equally fizzy then it is more about getting drunk, ale, belgium beers, bitters etc are more about the flavour. As are things like Becks, Kingfisher, Cobra.

Raistlin
06-07-2005, 00:07
There are some beers/lagers that have a slightly lighter taste, some that aren't so bitter.

Perhaps one of those might be more to your liking?

The only time I like beer is when it is mixed with lemonade.
I very rarely drink beer and would rather have coctails and wine instead.

Some people will down any bottle of wine or alcoholic drink without thinking there is any difference but I do like a good wine. Definately French wine.

My uncle brought back some old rum from the carrabbean Island Guadeloupe last year and it was so high in alcohol we had to drink it tiny miniture glasses. So nice yet soooo strong.

I wouldn't drink anything that my palete can not tolerate.

Good thing I love beer then :D

As Raistlin says, you get lighter beers - (corona extra, buccanero, coors, etc)

or heavier beers, like ales, but as people say you should drink because its enjoyable, not just grin and bear it so you can get p***ed
