Come on now ... this is a spin off from a thread that went OT. Let's not get this one off topic with puns before it's even an hour old!

As the thread starter I won't hesitate to ask that it is closed if it manages to worm its way off topic.

If you think you're going to turn this into a pun-fest man ure out of line :)

Do you actually put worms in there or does it just break down?

Can-O-Worms is the easiest to use and most efficient wormery for kitchen waste we've ever come across. The tray structure allows easy access to the compost, and the liquid is collected from a tap in the raised base.
You can buy this Can-O-Worms housing on its own, but you will need to add some composting worms to use it.
Contains: Can-O-Worms housing, bedding block and Instruction booklet.
By all accounts there are different types of worm that can be used

You can add real earthworms to your composter to speed up the process, but if you don't it'll still work as worms from the ground will find their way into it eventually. That's why it's best to site a basic compost bin on bare ground and not concrete. The Can'o'worms is ideal for urban gardens that may have a yard but little or no bare earth.

We have placed our basic Blackwall compost bin in the corner of the garden behind the shed, on a patch I de-turfed. We're putting quite a lot into it and TBH I think if we were going to seriously reduce the amount we throw out for the council to collect we would probably need half a dozen bins, given that what you throw in takes up to 18 months to properly break down. I think we're going to fill it rather quickly and then it'll just sit there for months until it's ready to shovel out.

Considering this thread is about horse poo, then it doesn't surprise me that those puns were rather, shall we say, cr@p :)

Were is the best place to get a com poster? It would be great for the grass cuttings!

Well, mine is bog standard. Four 5 ft two by twos sunk 18" into the ground and spaced about a yard apart with some of that plastic chicken wire stapled on to them to keep the material in.

I know that the theory says that you you should have a layer of garden waste, then a layer of soil and all sorts of other complications. I don't bother; I just sling in leaves, weeds, grass, old plants, shredded material, all as it comes. I give it an occasional watering and spread a bit of Garotta on from time to time.

Leave it stewing over winter and it's ready for spreading next summer.

You could try your local council.

If you get lucky, it could be FOC.

are you sure a com poster would be ok for your area, wouldn't a co uk one be better?? ;)

you have to be careful putting just grass cuttings in a compost heap, it can pack down & go slimey ;)

We were offered our one from the council for a fiver :)
