hi everyone! i'm a new poster in the cable forum
i have a question to ask about sharing my telewest broadband with my housemates using a wireless router.
i used to be wanadoo customer, meaning that i used an adsl wireless modem-router D-Link DSL G604T (http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=372) . click on "detailed view" to see the interface (http://www.dlink.com/products/resource.asp?pid=372&rid=1381&sec=0) of the router.
since i am switching to telewest, i am unsure whether or not i can still use my modem-router. The telewest connection comes with a cable modem. would i be able to use the routing function of my modem/router by connecting the telewest cable modem to one of the four LAN ports? (not the dsl port! the dsl port requires an RJ 11 connector). my thought was to use one of the LAN port as a sort of "upload" line to provide internet access, and the other 3 LAN ports would be the "download" lines, as well as the wireless connection.
Any help or reply would be appreciated! feel free to ask more details about the set-up, or hardware details.
Thanks alot :p:
