nott-grim-ubr-1-ge20.inet.ntl.com [80.4.47.226]

This UBR serving my cable line is going up and down, and has been doing for the past hour or so, making my internet connection (and probs several thousand other people) very unstable.
Every minute or 2, it drops out for about 40 seconds, then comes back online.
I have been constantly pinging it from an ADSL line to confirm this.

I rang NTL faults, and got through to a nice chap in India who said he'd escalate it and couldn't help further.

probably not a lot more to be done , unless of course a passing ntl member see's this of course :)

i'm hoping the decent top brass like BBKing or Ignition notice it and fix it :D

Yes something is on a bender, I was ready to punch out my router, but i guess if you are having the same problem then it survives :/. I know somebody else on the same ubr and they aren't timing out on irc. Will phone up soon myself.

Ping statistics for 62.253.162.30:
Packets: Sent = 2012, Received = 1845, Lost = 167 (8% loss),

edit: I'm not on the same ubr as you, mine being 10.153.175.254

jtwn is on grim2 ubr and simon9975 is on grim3 ubr which makes me suspect it may be more than just 1 ubr - can you post tracerts to ntlworld.com.

Well I would guess its a connection problem from Grimsby ubrs to nott-t2cam1-a, but I'm sure our resident ntl network techies will correct me. :)

Laceby and Healing areas are suffering as well. I'm not on NTL but friends keep telling me and I notice they keep signing in and out of MSN.

I believe nott-t2cam1-b had some issues. Not sure what was wrong or how it was fixed though.

Some of the ubrs failed last night and all the traffic was routed throughnott-t2cam1 a this is a temp fix and they hope to have it fixed soon

thanks for that - probably explains the odd bit of 'lag' that occurs intermittently.
