I don't know if this has been posted before (I did search but did not find anything) but I have just found this website -

http://glassesdirect.co.uk

If you are as fed up with being ripped of by opticians you may want to check them out!!!

:)

That's great, so long as your confident that you won't end up looking like a dick in the specs you choose, I'd prefer to go to the opticians and try them on, also, have the option to take them back and get them repaired should they fall apart the next day.

I have worn glasses all my life so I know what kind of styles suit me, plus you can try before you buy so long as you return them with in 14 days according to the faq's.

From my experience, most opticians will replace screws etc for a small fee no matter where you got them from.

Each to thier own I guess, my last pair cost me nigh on £300 from vision express so I will definately be giving these guys a try very soon!!!

I'm thinking of people (like me) who are soon going to have to wear glasses, and I'd prefer to avoid looking like this ;)

:)It was posted before here (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=22564&highlight=OPTICIANS). There's some advice about the pro's and con's of it.

Costco charge the same price for lenses no matter what the prescription I believe. £29.99 or around there.

They then charge a supplementary charge for antiscratch/glare, can't remember how much.
