hello

i have a 750k broadband xbox+pc package.
i recieved a letter about 750k going up to 2mb automatically by the end of may. this hasn't happened and today when i tried to upgrade manually online it says this: We are sorry that your current package or connection speed is not appropriate for an online speed upgrade.

does this mean i cant get it.
im going to ring up on monday when the lines open but i just wondered wether i can get the upgrade.

Think you might need to call CS due to the Xbox live package, not sure though. Faults are open tomorrow but I don't know wether they will be able to do the upgrade for you, worth a try though ;)

Call cs on Monday they will be able to manually upgrade your package, the reason it is failing online is because of the xbox package asigned to your account.Be sure to tell them you want the 2 mb xbox upgrade.

3rd 128K took 531 ms = 246840 Bytes/sec = approx 2054 kbits/sec

I'd ignore cnet - tells me 701k, and I'm on 3MB LOL

cnet must not give proper results then.

Seems not. Don't know why though (not that I care - I'm quite happy with my 3MB ;) )

iv just done the cnet and comes up as 659.3 Kbps - You 659.3 kbps and the 1 i posted comes up as
Sat, 11 Jun 2005 21:04:33 GMT
1st 128K took 531 ms = 246840 Bytes/sec = approx 2054 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 531 ms = 246840 Bytes/sec = approx 2054 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 531 ms = 246840 Bytes/sec = approx 2054 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 1094 ms = 119810 Bytes/sec = approx 997 kbits/sec

i think its cos the cnet server are in the usa and this 1 is hosted on the ntl server so u get ur true connection speed.

Are you on a stand alone modem or stb as that looks like the answer is no you haven't got your upgrade yet. If you are on a STB you will need to call CS to ask for it to be done.

claret

Modem connected to the stb, due to the black pace box being unable to cope with the speed when i was connected at 1mb

Modem connected to STB? Normally they seperate the feed, are you sure the cable from the modem goes to the STB?
If it is a normal SACM connection then point it here
http://www.ntlworld.com/data-feeds/editorial/microsites/tierMigration/
and follow instructions but if it is going through the STB then you have to call CS and ask about the upgrade I'm afraid.

Originally it came from the STB, but as i said, when i was on 1mb BB, i was having plenty of issues with internet going down, and picture freezing on tv, so eventually they put a modem in, and lo and behold its sat on top of my STB/DVD player:o

But where does the cable that connects to the SACM come from? If it comes from the STB then you will need to call CS as sometimes they have to be upgraded manually.
If however the cable that feeds the SACM does not come out of the STB you should be able to use the tier migration screen to put your upgrade through automatically.
