BELFAST loosing connection

Hi last few days playing xbox/being on any of two networked PCs internet has become unstable. i am setup with modem attached to router and xbox attached to router, and other pc downstairs wirelessly picking up network.

>NTL say Belfast area is fine but server status page says planned maintenance is happening

hi yes i just played smootly on xbox directly connecting it to the modem. i have a belkin 4 port router. connected to my pc brothers and xbox. do you think it could be the trouble now?

If you hav NTL Digital TV,press'page up/down/blue' buttons. Then go to page 3,
Look at connection status.
If it says '5 conn' (or 5 connected) you have a return path & it's not the network, more likely the router.
If it does'nt say 5 conn,it could be your signal levels are off.
What area of Belfast are you in?

i don't have digital mate, i ve been on this pc direct connect and no d/c all last night plus on xbox direct connect and no more trouble so thinkin that it has to be router, mate recommended the netgear wgr614 to me.

can you try the router somewhere else to see if the problem follows it ???? :)

em what you mean try it somewhere else, my brothers pc is downstairs and modem is here in my room can't be moved.

i ve hooked the router back up and the random d/cs have started again on pc and played bit of xbox and d/cs happened again. what else could it be?

hi i got a new belkin router. . 54mbps one, my old router was 11mbps belkin, since installing the new belkin router everything is working fine again. . xbox live/2 PCs.
