Hi

I live in Nottingham and still even today have no automatic upgrade to 2mb from 750k. Has anyone else in Nottingham been upgraded yet and I do not mean by registering the change online.

I ask for this specifically as I can not alter my speed online as it says my cable modem is not registered, and when i register I get post code errors. I have rang 7 times to no avail so waiting for the automatic update, but I am still waiting.

Hi :wavey:

I live in the ng7 area. I had my line upgraded over the phone, didn't have to do anything online.

When you rang, what was to no avail? Weere you told to wait for the auto update?

Yeah about 100 times over the last 5 months :)

If you access the User Information menu you should be able to find what speed level you are on.

Press Page Up, Page Down and the blue button on your NTL remote control .When the menu appears go to page 3 of the User menu by using the "more" button.

On Page 3 find the line beginning QOS. For 2MB it should say stb.mid.cb. If it says stb.light then you are on the 1MB service and with need to contact Customer Services and tell them that.

Hope this helps.

Mine goes through a cable modem not the digital TV box. I have Sky digital TV as well! Didn't like Digital TV on NTL.

Interesting.Sky TV and NTL Broadband are a great combination. At the moment I have telephone, TV and broadband from NTL but you are right Sky TV is better ( more channels/less cost).

What are the full details of you setup please and how much does it cost monthly? I didn't realise that you could have that combination.

I also ditched NTL DTV some time ago. Still have NTL broadband and phone. Sky+ is far better than anything that NTL can offer at the moment in terms of quality, channels and features. Nothing much to choose between BT and NTL for the phone. BT may be slightly cheaper with my usage pattern but it's not worth the hassle of moving back to BT. Things could change in the next 12 months or so with xDSL getting faster so will wait and see how NTL react to this.

did u have any issues putting the sky box through the ntl phone line?

I can agree, SKY+ Mulitroom with 3meg Cable is much cheaper and better, i have all channels apart from Movies, and have 1 Sky + box and 1 normal box. Also get the phone line free fro 12 months with local and national calls free because i took out the max BB.

If i where on cable TV it would cost me a wopping £96.49

But because i am on Sky it cost me around £78.99 so i am paying less and egting more!!!

I told my landlord I might be moving and if I stay I have permission to get a sky dish due to this analogue tv farce, so I too may end up with sky tv & ntl bb/phone combo.

We rang for the 300k --> 1 Mb upgrade last week.

I think the others are a matter of "when it happens"...
