I was looking at NTL Triple DECT phone VS1502 but it seems to be discontined & no headset socket

My next one is Panasonic KXT CD 777 does the SMS work with NTL?

Does anyone have a favorite cordless phone?

You'll be lucky if anything works with NTL :p

Seriously though, the basic functions will be okay but you'll have to check with NTL in your area for the "features", especially things like caller ID. Not sure about SMS as I'm not sure how that works (is it dependent on the phone carrier or just the ability to call an SMS centre, or are you asking if NTL have an SMS centre?).

My Vtech cordless phones would be my favoured ones because they were cheap, but on the other hand caller ID is not and looks like will not be, available in my area . BT is my only solution to that :(

As for the NTL phones, well I never hear good things about them, but maybe it's just because their name is on it ;)

Seriously though, NTL phones aside, my last phones were actually from Argos but it's just that Argos have become a joke recently.

Rediculous waiting times with their automated "number" system that's laughable as it never matches reality, never seem to have a clue what they're doing, can't find the stock when they claim it's in stock (this has happened 3 times now and always after having paid), and items that are faulty or just plain the wrong thing in the box (also happened several times).

Oh, and they don't make it clear in the description on DECT phones that Caller ID may not be available in your area, they only say it's a service that may be charged for. That's what annoyed me when I bought my phone and discovered NTL don't damn well support it . Still, one good thing about argos is their 16 day no-quibble return (if you can stand queing for ages).

I think you have a dud argos store, all the ones I have used have been really good:shrug:
