I have ntl bb (1mg) and the d/s light has stopped flashing - sync and rdy are constantly on. Slow connection exists to sites.

Any help/ideas will be helpful!

By the way, i live in the WS14 area.

1) What modem do you have?

2) Are you experiencing any problems other than websites?

3) If yes, have you reported them to ntl?

4) If yes, what did they say?

5) :welcome: to the site. :)

Thanks for the reply.

Modem is ntl:home 200

No, only problem is websites - e-mail's working fine.

Phoned up ntl bb technical support. Went through trouble shoot, said it was the PC that was causing the prob - dont believe this though!

How do u change the proxy?

Many thanks.

How do u change the proxy?

Follow the 2nd link I gave in my initial post, the details of how to do it are there.

[Edit]-And here's a list of proxies to choose from: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/cmtips/trancache.html#ntl :)

Changed proxy - still doing the same thing. D/S light not flashing etc!

Any other ideas would be grateful.

Browsing still slow!

Have you tried a complete reboot? (modem and PC)

Actually now running over 1000kb

Speed is now fine.

Does it matter that this D/S light is not working?

Will it affect my service in any way?

Not sure, if the service itself is fine then I wouldn't worry about it too much.....

Maybe..... ;)

Spoken to my friend who has NTL in the same area. His D/S light is flashing as per normal. Does anybody think my modem has broken, and is it worth getting NTL out to change it?
