my wireless connection is working fine
but my ethernet connection isn't
why ?
can anyone help me?

Is the NIC disabled in Device Manager?

What OS are you using?
What wireless router are you using?
Are the two connections concerned on one machine or two? (ie. are we saying that the wireless on your laptop works but the wired on the desktop doesn't?)
What steps have you tried?
Has it ever worked? If so, when was the last time it worked and what have you installed/changed since then?

NIC = Network Interface Card.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections

Find one that says LAN, right click and select properties. Make sure it doesn't say "Disabled"

i am using windows xp pro
linksys wirelees router WRT54G
i am using the connection for two computers, but when i setup the network, one computer worked with ethernet and other one is not, but wirelees network is working with both computers

i have rebooted the modem, try to use another cable no use
it worked 3 months ago,
so someone here said go and buy new cable and try it
so i tried it
it didn't worked
i don't remember what i have changed , sorry

You did buy patch cable and not cross over didnt you>?

All my patch cables actually have patch written on them dunno if this is the norm

If the original cable was damaged and you replaced with the wrong cable this might be the cause of your problem
