How do you guys go prefer playing your games online. I prefer xbconnect myself but then again I have my box chipped for imports :)

surely its gonna be xbox live! :D

Friends list, voice comms, special voice chat, enhanced especially for live play, lots of games supported.

and of course no cheaters :D

XBox Live.

Same reasons as Exulus has given above.

I've tried XBoxConnect...didn't think much of it (after the initial "Wow! Halo online" turned to "agh, laggy, crap, no voice, no friends list..." etc.)

I have tried XBC and it works ok...it was good to play Halo with friends online ;)

Ahem! Back to the discussion!

I reckon its down to the games. Halo online is great as it THPS4 however LIVE does not offer online play for these, only XBox connect does. However I do find LIVE to be more stabe and less laggy as it is designed to work over broadband whereas the system link games are supposed to work on 10BaseT


And before I get slated for calling XBox connect "Laggy" this is my own experience and it doesn't happen all the time!

XBC is laggy for sure...and so is Live...but that's life! :(

But it's all down to acceptable limits...Live is still the best way to play MP games cause of the voice collaboration. ;)


p.s. Halo doesn't have live capabilities cause it was released 1 year before Live came out! ;)

Live rules for the aforementioned reasons. If cheating became rampant online (some question over RtCW), I'd go back to my PC.

Very true. I know there were a couple of games that were live enabled before the release but there was no chance with Halo. Tis why Halo makes XBConnect so popular.

At the moment, and I'm sure Boom and others would agree, the PC has far superior games...in terms of depth, graphics, gameplay, story etc....but Live wins cause of the Voice, simply, as that.

I'd agree with Boom if Live succumbed to cheats then it would immediately fail just like PS2's online service...

Yep PC's best. I was playing Desert Combat online last nights fecking excellent.

I havnt come across 1 cheat in any games ive played of Socom, yet. Is that because I dont play it enough? :D

Strange plenty of people are playing whenever i go on.

I have a two playstation 1's, a Dreamcast, Playstation 2, XBOX and 2 PC's so why would I buy an eithernet adaptor for the PS2 or pay to play onlin with th XBOX lol
