NTL and BlueYonder don't need a landline. These use a coax cable to your house but you need to be in a service area. AOL can be provided on NTL cable too.

Anyone else Tiscali, Demon, BT, BTYahoo, etc, (including NTL offnet) need a landline as that is the cable that connects you to the internet.
