Sounds like you have been scammed already..........i would probably send the stuff off anyway......youve probably just been charged a packet on your phone!!
Yup, 0906 numbers are premium rate, normally around the £1 per minute mark - you've probably just been conned out of about a fiver, and I doubt you'll hear anything back from them, but send off anyway, its only gonna cost you the price of 3 stamps..
thanks for the replys i thought as much at leasts other people can be warned. I also found this
Premium rate numbers are controlled by ICSTIS - the Independent Committee for the Supervision of Standards of Telephone Information Services. ICSTIS investigates complaints about any promotion or service involving the use of a telephone connection (including Internet or interactive TV) to make a premium rate call. Examples include
Services which start with the numbers 090 xxxx
International services commencing +00 xx and which involve Adult entertainment
SMS text messages charged at a premium
Information service (such as traffic and weather report services) on mobile telephone short codes
You can report any misuse to ICSTIS by calling 0800 500 212, emailing secretariat@icstis.org.uk or writing to ICSTIS, Freepost WC5468, London, SE1 2BR

hi everyone, im new to the whole forum thing, but i have had about 4 text messages from something called 'gregpenn' saying things such as 'we are able to confirm receipt of your documentation'. I dont subscribe to things and i am aware of mobile scams but this seems strange to me as it is now about my fourth text from them. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or can offer any help? If so i would appreciate it allot :)
Thanks, Pete

hi and :welcome: to the site , maybe a wrong number issue , and like smicer said , if it is from someone you dont know , just bin it ;) :)
Exactly. It is a scam.
Dont even give it a thought...and dont call the number.
They either charge you a huge amount using an 09 number or route you through foreign countries and charge you tonnes.
These companies are robbers. Dont respond to them.

Another common one is you get a text saying something like 'It's Sue, can you call me urgently? I haven't got my mobile with me but you can get me on 09xxxxxxxxx'
Now most people know someone called Sue, so you call, get connected, just begin to say 'can i speak to Sue' when the person on the other line says 'oh, sorry, can you just hold on a second ....' (of course it's a recording, though you don't twig because of the context, and of course you're holding on more than a second ....
Yes, I got caught - once - by that one ...... !! :dunce:
Remember, anything that sounds too good to be true probably is...
If you've won anything, it's probably a "luxury ballpoint pen".
A game I always play when those "scratch and win", call this number, things drop out of the paper, is to guess what prize you're sure to win, like discount vouchers that you need to spend a fortune to use, or maybe some little technolgy giveaway "you've won a digital camera" is a good one... pictured is a DSLR, but the actual prize is a little 3 in 1 keyring cam.
I got a text message yesterday telling me to take my clothes off, run through the park naked and I would win £500. It was a scam and I feel so foolish. If you receive this text message don't fall for it like I did.
