No, you can only downgrade by ringing Customer Services.

i was thinking of cancelling broadband as money is tight at the moment and they told me i would have to write a letter to customer services in belfast, i got the feeling they were taking the ****, even if i did write the letter, they would probably lose it.

I called up to cancel the other day, they did it over the phone, no mention of letters.

HTH :)

I went up to 600 from 150 and back down when I was a bit skint, and it was done through CS.

You can only upgrade online with a cable modem.... And its pretty much instantaneous :)

why can you upgrade but not downgrade over web?

I presume its because they want to make it harder to downgrade! :)

Face it, Whats easier? Downgrading on the net, or ringing Ntl? Downgrading on the net of course, Hence NTL remove it, and make it harder for you to downgrade :)

yes its true its excellent business sense really if CS is closed and you want to downgrade you cant and then the hope would be you forget about it and just continue using the service as usual

As Neil has said, you cannot downgrade online, better CS would be for NTL to allow you to do this. All you would have to do is enter your account number and a password, I'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult for NTL to set this facility up.

I phoned to downgrade and the person who dealt with the downgrade didn't do it. The modem was rebooted by JustanotherNoob and it wass till 1mb I had to get Debs off the forums to check for me and yes it was still the gold package..

Have to be firm with them if you want to downgrade... Or you will end up paying the new charges..

I have upgraded and downgraded numerous times mostly using CS they have done it right for me every time with no moaning.

kits you sure they didnt just change your billing and left you on 1mbit for 600kbit price?
