lets hope soon - I would have though performing the procedure on a relatively young person, like you, would be of interest so they could monitor the effect over a longer period. :tu:

If it means less or no needles then I'm up for being a guinea pig :) The needles are the one thing that really gets me, I think it's psychological tho - they don't actually hurt, much.
It's like in films - it's only when I see needles I get freaked, for example The Thing - there is all kind of scary/weird stuff going on, but it's only when you see them using needles that I get freaked.
Shame it's only for Type I though ...

Very true - but at least it's a start.
a brilliant piece of news,although listening to radio 4 this morning they did say that the people who have had this treatment will have to take anti rejection drugs for the rest of there lives.
Trouble is that they have to take immunosupressants for ever after.....
edit--beaten to it :D
Hopefully the stem cell approach will work, so everyone with type 1 diabetes can be cured...
