Officially announced by ntl:home here (http://www.ntl.com/mediacentre/press/display.asp?id=638), by Media Guardian here (http://media.guardian.co.uk/broadcast/story/0,7493,983344,00.html) and on another forum here (http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/t/69366/ds.html) :D

Channels launching by the end of July 2003 will be Sky One Mix, Sky Travel, Sky Travel Extra, Scuzz, Amp and Flaunt!

The question is will the channels be sensibly placed i.e. Sky One Mix straight after Sky One? ;)

Great news though that they are coming on! Channel placement has always been a bit hit and miss on NTL and i think the whole thing needs a shake up. I'm just glad to see Sky One Mix.:)

They'll probably bung them with the other new ones in the 900 range in the original area.

Well there is a gap between 140 and 144.

Is there any technical reason they can't stick Sky One mix in there?

On a related note does anyone know for definate when E4+1 is launching?

so gap between 140 and 144 on original ntl areas.

and gap 33-39 on ex-cwc. ntl could use the brains and place them in a sensible place. and e4+1 on 145 (striaght after e4 144).

sensible!

Well, not really. It makes no difference to Alias really as it is still showing on Saturday or Sunday on Sky One. Admittedly, it's at an awkward time but that's what VCR's are for aren't they?

After July, you'll be able to watch it on Sky One Mix on Monday nights I think. Perhaps a Sky viewer can confirm the night and time.

Alias is on at 9pm Mondays. Sky One Mix is the next Channel to Sky One.

I have a brain like a seive. Forgot to tape it this week already. :(

edit - another reason why we decided to leave it and catch up with Syd et al in widescreen on C5 later this year :)

Are the extra channels going to be part of the base pack ? I'd guess that from the wording of the press release, but it is rather vaugue.

From elsewhere :D the new channels start on July 31st. Sky One Mix, and the two Travel channels are basic, the music channels are family tier.

carn't they get the system working properly first plus you will have to phone up and request them before they activate them for you :devsmoke: :upyours:

Don't know where you are coming from, I didn't have to ring up to get e4+1 when they launched it the other day, it was there.

So I would think the new sky channels at the end of the month would be the same if you are subscribed to the relevant packs.

I'm still baffled as to why anybody would want mix?

It's because of Alias..Sky moved it from Monday Sky One at 9pm to Sky One Mix at 9pm. It's on Sky One at 11.50pm on Saturday so it's easier to forget to set the VCR and miss it altogether.

So Alias is the only reason people want mix then?

I'm painting my downstairs toilet tomorow! Want to watch the paint dry ;)

There may well be other reasons but a number of people were annoyed when Alias was switched and were pleased when NTL negotiated Sky One Mix.

I'll pass on the paint drying thanks. Have plenty of my own to watch.

Good luck with the downstairs toilet!! ;)

At least you won't have far to go and have a leak!
