At first glance, it sounds tight-fisted, but I think that it's quite sensible really. Don't just hand it to them on a plate.
Seems reasonable to me :tu:

Makes perfect sense, they're 8 and 5 years old - what could they need more for?
I actually think it's nice to see someone who is so wealthy trying to teach their kids the value of money and what things are worth

God my kids get a £5 each week!!!!! and then the eldest one goes to cubs, soccer and swimming. I wish I was like suchmi!!!!!! good on him, my kids are brats already, the only reason I am like this is because I had a miserable childhood and I dont want them to have one

me thinks you meant schumi ;) mind you suchmi sounds better :D
Giving an eight year old just £2 week - tight fisted IMO.
My parents gave me none!!!
They said if you want money you (as title) you have to earn it!!!
So I did, went out and got 3 paper rounds.

but they are to young to go out and earn their own money, I do make them do stuff round the house, but that does not really work, and I do not approve of child labour
