do you not see the i.p. you are trying to connect to ???? , if you find out what it is then all you need to do is open a command prompt and type tracert < the real i.p. address > without the arrows , post back if you need more help :)

it's a bit messy, but you can see that the problems don't start until the trace moves out of NTL 'territory' i.e. after hop 9.

ntl and bt take same route when they leave there network so why is ntl having probs and wont admit it

That's ntl for you I'm afraid-but.....you need to provide ntl with hard evidence that the fault lies with their network, & having just done a Trace Route to the server you gave earlier, I'm not so sure it does.

Is that a statement or a question?

The Trace Routes that have been posted suggest that the fault does not lie on ntl's side.

1) Gather all the evidence you can as ntl are notorious for not listening to customers.

2) Take said evidence to ntl management/directors if Tech Support will not listen-you have reported this to Tech Support....haven't you?

Don't bother with Goodland-if you feel you have genuinely exhausted the normal methods, then mail one of the top brass listed here (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/article.php?a=28).
