View Full Version : Subscribing to 300k BB + Free line rental --> Is it worth asking for discount?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of subscribing to 300k BB with free years line rental priced at £17.99/month. This includes free number transfer (worth £20) but I do not want to transfer the number (as its my dad's line and he wants to keep it with BT).

Since I'm not transferring the number (hence saving NTL £20), should I ask this as a discount paid to me or I'm I being a bit too cheeky?

Hi mchu6am4,

I'd ask. It would do you no harm and I doubt they would set a flag on your account labelling you as a cheapskate. Just ask them for their best deal. I did this when I signed up and got my first three months of broadband (150k at the time) for free.

Go on, give it a go... :)

Phil.

You can currently get 300K broadband for £15.99 a month.

£15.99? Can I ask how :)

I'm currently paying £17.99, and have been doing so for well over a year :Yikes:

£15.99 is just for 300k BB (not inc. free phone line rental for new customers - £17.99) . If you've been with NTL for more than 12months, then tell them you've seen leaflets advertising £15.99 or threaten to close your account. Of course, you can come back to them at £15.99/month but you'll have to sign 12month contract (as a new customer).
